    before it occurs, perhaps. Imagine being diagnosed with breast cancer, and not only having to deal with the reconstructive surgery then but also the effects of chemo/radiation to make sure there's no cancer in the rest of the body.

    This society tends to be way too boob-centric anyway...and that's not even counting the ones in the Republican caucus. ;-)

      surgery ruined my life so I will do anything to avoid the knife but it still seems like you are putting yourself through major surgery, which comes with it's own risks, for an illusion of control.

      Cancer is no good and I don't wish it on anyone but I question the notion that preemptively chopping off body parts is a solution.

      I do totally agree with the boob-centric part of your statement, and maybe we could cut off some of the republican boobs, that would help the health of the nation.
