Their publicized intent is very different.

Dream Tours is a travel resource whose mission is to extend the unforgettable “Dream Tours Vacation” experience to as many individuals with disabilities and their families as possible. Dream Tours accomplishes this mission through a program that provides premier disability information for travelers, links to resources, networking opportunities, marketing and public relations on disability related subjects.

In May 2005, Ryan [ED and Founder] was vacationing at Disney World with one of the residents of the group home he managed in Connecticut. During this trip, Ryan realized all of the overwhelming details when traveling to the theme parks. He also noticed the extensive needs when traveling with an individual who has special needs. He learned the benefits and time management capabilities of having theme park and special needs know how.

It's pretty much a two person operation - the founder and his girlfriend. Question would be, how much are they "in on" the scam? Are the parents lying, or is the company "winking"?

Mr Clement denied that Christiano is only hired to help families skip queues.
He admitted that she uses a scooter on the job, but said she has an auto-immune disorder.

A source told the newspaper that the number of the disabled tour guide service has been passed around rich parents in Manhattan.
On its website, Dream Tours Florida states it 'specializes in making “Dreams Come True” for adults with Developmental disabilities & children with various special needs, such as; Aspergers Syndrome, Autism, Down Syndrome, physical impairments, as well as other diagnoses.'
It states that Christiano is an executive director who gained a 'Masters degree in Psychology.... prior to her own disabling experiences..'

this person with an auto-immune disorder will accompany your family for a day at the park and will help you skip the lines.

That's a thousand dollars a day to go to DisneyWorld.

We've been spelling it wrong all these years. It's actually: PRO-GOP-ANDA

What do they think they are doing? Are they knowingly taking big bucks to scam the waiting lines? Or do they think they are helping your family, including an autistic or ADHD son, to navigate the complexity of various theme parks?  Nothing in the reports so far says that the parent "bragging" about this couldn't lie about a member of their group having some disability.

    •  Thanks, Catte Nappe-- (4+ / 0-)

Seems possible they're serving both clienteles... if you're sitting there idle with no disabled customers booked, it might be tough to turn down business from the "Dick Parents"...

If that's the case, I hope Disney security gives them a stern talking to, instead of just yanking their annual passes (which they could totally do, lots of restrictions and caveats in the small print...).

Maybe one that makes my title autobiographical. Updated to reflect new data.

Republicans represent both sides: the insanely rich and vice versa.
