Though as we're halfway through May already it wouldn't surprise me. But I'm glad you're awake and getting things done! I know it's hard, and I understand that the voices are annoying and depressing and I'm proud of you for making yourself get up and get things accomplished anyway! Take a breath, relax a bit, if you have to yell at her to shut up, go ahead. You'd fit right in here, my son walks around yelling random words all the time (and he's not hearing voices, he just yells them.. lately "cheeze-its" or "banana peel", he's always done it, we don't know why.) We ignore it and move on.

and OODS onastick!  because it's fun to say.

My Mum is horribly embarrassed sometimes to be in the store with me - but she does have the excuse that I'm autistic and mentally ill should someone comment on my singing about pizza...

And we sail and we sail and we never see land, just the rum in the bottle and a pipe in my hand...

which is where his most likely comes from as well. We aren't embarrassed by it though, it's just part of who he is. My only real worry with it is that it will get in the way of employment later for him.

think - always have been. But I just don't care so much anymore and the repetitive nature of it helps me feel better.

I held everything in for a long time - and it didn't help - I got fired anyways.  So he might as well be himself and wait and see what the future holds then.

          •  I was a punker as a teen... (2+ / 0-)

dressed all in black, the white and black make up... ( ala Robert Smith and Ramones) etc. I didn't care what people thought then, and that has carried over into adult hood (though I don't have the money for the punker clothes any longer). They don't like how a dress, how I talk, etc, they can go pound sand. They have a problem with my kids and how they act (unless they are actually misbehaving), they have a problem with me :).

The only time we care really is with the in laws, and then it's just "don't discuss politics or religion". Simply because they will make my other half's life difficult. And that isn't so much caring what they think as just making things more smooth and letting the kids have a relationship with their grandparents rather than the lot of us being disowned.

so I was well dressed in a conventional sense - but not conforming at ALL.

But I was the designated "well" child - so as long as I wasn't out getting arrested or failing classes - and I wasn't - I was invisible.  My Bubbe who likes me is 5 minutes away - and the other one is off with her church people smug in the knowledge I'm going to hell - so whatever for her.  Not like we were ever close.

Now I'm not the well child at all - and they can suck it up for a while.  I certainly have to.
