  •  Morning, priceman (7+ / 0-)

This whole thing about resurrecting every gripe against the media in order to defend Obama is really foolish.  Talk about shooting oneself in the foot. Of course we know the corporate media sucks, but are we doing to trash the First Amendment just to defend the superhero president?  It's not about the media. It's about the bill of rights.  And as a bonus, the media is doing their job as a result of all of this in a better way than I've seen in a long time.

If they lose their "access" over this whole thing, it might be the best thing that ever happened to us.  Maybe then they'll do journalism instead of stenography.   Of course people like Josh Marshall and Media Matters (what a disappointment) will continue to be veal penned stenographers. They might as well just become federal employees.

    •  Agreed. (5+ / 0-)

It is about the 1st amednment and freedom of the press is important and not reliving the Watergate era of killing the 4th amendment which is why we put in regulations after to curb the DOJ there. It is important to remember that Bradley Manning is important which is why I included that tweet and that hopefully this will become about this administration's attacks on all whistle blowers and anyone around whatever leaks however little. But I didn't necessarily agree with how it was being said.

The media has finally awoken that it's 1984 and they are not safe. That is going to be a good thing if it keeps up. I truly hope they lose their access over this. That media matters article was illuminating and sad.

I don't negotiate grand bargains with deficit terrorists!
