to fvcking HBO. sheesh. Bad enough Im hooked on Downton Abbey, heh. Now, having said that, I confess I did watch most of the first two seasons, lol, just not live on HBO. Wasn't all that great, imho.

We did ditch cable tv a couple months ago and switched to the "a la carte" internet for {argh} $76/mo. Guess what? A couple weeks ago, they suckered me in to a new bundle promo dealio... internet plus cable for only $36/mo for six months then it'll go up to $56/mo. No contracts, penalties blablabla. So I did it. Got the converter box by mail last week, still havent even plugged it back in. lol.

I am so sick of constantly getting punked by everything and everybody Im about ready to go live in a cabin in the woods somewhere. Okay not really. ;-/

Once you turn that tv off and get used to it, you don't even miss it.  It's about 99% crap.  I like the a la carte method online, except for a few things like breaking news, Olympics, some local pro team games, other select things. But actually during the last few major breaking news events I did not turn on the tv, so maybe I don't need it for that either.

I'm so sick of having to sit through so much crap in order to have a little content -- ads, network promos, and whatever else.  It's an enormous time suck.  I think we're in for a major transformation in the Madison Avenue world.  We're already seeing it, but it's going to change even more.  We have a whole generation coming up, many of whom are ditching tv.

video for our front door. I can see who's ringing the bell. Also handy if I am expecting guests. My son wants me to get a flat screen tv because this one is pretty ugly but what do I do with the old one? Can't sell it or give it away and I don't know of any place that reclaims them for parts., yet.
