she's full of awesome, at least in terms of getting right to the crux of the matter in front of an audience.

And agreed with this too, unfortunately:

As for threats? I don't think that Sen. Warren can impose much in the way of consequences on them for continuing their bad behavior.
Amazing orator, right about the rules and about what the problems are. But she can't arrest these guys, she can only try to shame them. And everyone knows they have no shame, so what happens next, other than an appearance that "Something Is Being Done!"?

    •  Geez, let Senator Warren get a year or two. Now, (5+ / 0-)

they have learned if she summons them to testify, or sends them a letter, it will be public, truthful, and in your face. She is getting face to face with appointed members of the administration.

More than shame. She will have their name in the news over and over, and over.

If she summons Holder, instead of sending him a letter, it rachets it up.

2012-2016 President Obama, Vice President Biden, Senator Warren. For a LIFETIME, federal judges. Get the filibuster changed. Steamroll. http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/submit-questions-and-comments

Their names are "in the news now".  Let's be realistic here. As I noted, Warren is spot on and she deserves props, but what we see here now amounts to "sternly worded letters".

Not to mention the fact that summonses can be ignored. Karl Rove proved that not real long ago, IIRC. Oh, I know, he's not a cabinet member, but the precedent lives.

That being said, I'm happy to give the lady what she does in fact deserve--and I'd support her for POTUS in a New York Minute--but I'm not going to get all excited over appearances to this particular end.  When bankers start going to jail and monies stolen from our people and our economy are restored, I'll be first on my feet, cheering.
