    He actually starts the conversation saying all these sensible things about mission creep and doing more than one is prepared for. Then Kai forces him to try and apply those ideas to what was really done and Rumsfeld tries to make it sound like Obama was worse because at one time he had higher troop numbers (of course Obama would have had zero troops there if Rumsfeld hadn't invaded). Then he starts backpedalling at full speed to the "history will show we were right after all" position -- the "Hail Mary" of the genocide set. Clearly a person who has absolutely no bedrock moral convictions whatsoever.

    A person like Rumsfeld needs a big book of rules like that because he can always find a rule that will rationalize whatever harebrained scheme his buddies in the military are pushing. Evil doesn't get any more banal than him.
