    If so, then please mentally put scare-quotes around the word 'scandal' whenever I used it and read my comment again.

    I'm tired of people picking out one word or phrase in a diary/comment and using it to ignore the general point (unless it's a slur, of course). If you have an opinion on the relative legitimacy of the AP controversy versus the other controversies, please state it.

    P.S.: Dictionary.com says a scandal is:

    1. a disgraceful or discreditable action, circumstance, etc.
    2. an offense caused by a fault or misdeed.
    3. damage to reputation; public disgrace.
    4. defamatory talk; malicious gossip.
    5. a person whose conduct brings disgrace or offense.
    Numbers 3 and 4 appear to apply, yes? Maybe a little benefit of the doubt would be advisable instead of accusing another Kossack of "buying GOP rhetoric"?
