    Raising money is required to win an office.  That's the bottom line. Everybody complains about it, but just how are normal, dedicated people supposed to get elected if they can't raise the money it takes to be competitive?

    You may not like it, but that's the system. Your $5 helps a candidate mail about 20 pieces of literature.  In a local race, that may be the most effective way to get the candidate's message out.

    You City Council member may be in the State House or Congress some day.  If you want good people in office, support them locally.
