The other night when rainstorms pounded through the area like big cats, the Great Big Texas Cowboy was crying like a little girl on television, as the drama queen meteorologist took an entire hour to dance around in front of his green screen scaring the crap out of people who apparently have never seen a raindrop before.

Sometimes this place really gets to you.  The reactionary right is making a total mess of Texas, and this judge apparently is so unbalanced it's amazing he is even allowed on the bench.

Calling someone with a sexual predilection you don't agree with as nothing more than "a lifestyle choice" amply shows how Mr. Big Judge here needs to go back to science class.  We've known for nearly 20 freaking years that homosexuality is like left- and right-handedness, but Mr. Big Judge seems to want to place a religious test on this poor couple.

No guts, no gospel and definitely no love.  What's wrong with these people?  Maybe the local gay community needs to march on the McKinney courthouse.  When legal means are exhausted, what's left than a good Stonewall riot in McKinney, the redneck lap of the know-nothings?

      word things.

Replace "sex" with "gender" and it leaves the right wingers flummoxed.
Sex is that icky stuff that people do in the dark.
      Gender is who you are.
I can hear their heads exploding from the strain, already!

Perhaps it will take the equivalent of a Texas Stonewall to get things to change...but I'd rather do it with reason, where possible.

We'll infect them with reason, and change them with compassion.  One at a time, if that's what it takes.

We cannot call ourselves a civilised society if we refuse to protect the weakest among us.

Uhm, with all due respect, 6 people were killed, dozens injured, and a whole bunch of homes were destroyed or damaged. So, except for your poetic license regarding this week's tornado outbreak, I pretty much agree with your post.

I want my middle initial back!
