  •  evening mollie... (4+ / 0-)

what struck me about the banking requirement was how neatly it piggybacks rewarding one favored constituency on top of another.

my guess is that forcing these "unbanked" folks into banks will be a bonanza for generating fees for banksters which will diminish the money that poor folks have to eke out a bare existence with.

let me know what you come up with in your research about the asset testing.  it sounds like the lobbyists and obama managed to fill the details with devils.

complaint about the law--the lack of equity, in so many areas.

I will do that.  Keep your fingers crossed that I can find another source.

Actually, if I can't, I'll still probably post it, linking to the original CounterPunch article.

Just 'saw' tardis10, who's very good at 'resourcing' stuff.  Maybe if we put our collective heads together, we can turn up more material.  ;-)

    •  These folks need to be banked in credit unions. (3+ / 0-)

Preferably the most socially progressive ones. Such a project it will be. OFA (is that still their name?) could be a big help in such an effort.

      •  That is a great idea! Been banking at a credit (4+ / 0-)

union for 23 years.  Super accommodating people, both professionally and personally.

In general, credit unions seems to have more relaxed, or informal policies and procedures.

I hope that someone in HHS (or maybe it would be the Treasury Dept--IRS?) thinks of this.
