him think he's a 'bad influence"

These parents did it because they were Gay. Others do it to boys in same way because he's from the 'wrong side of the tracks" or they don't like him or he's the wrong color or religion or whatever reason they don't want their daughter going out with him.

There was an NPR segment on this once. Lives are ruined.

Doesn't make this situation less dispicable. But if the law is broken clearly (18yr old boy with almost 16 yr old girl is in some cases a Senior dating a Sophmore) I think in some places they HAVE TO charge the is not up to their disgression. No need to talk to parent or whoever to see what motivated them to report someone who was breaking the law.

It's not like the state needs to referee these relationships.  It's just that the differences in age and maturity levels is very stark for teens.

We're talking about a situation where kids who are in the same grade could be criminally liable.

if you are disagreeing to something I said. In the diary and in the situations with the boys on NPR the two kids were not in the same grade. Laws can be written-and are in some states- so that teens can be a few years apart (three or four) and don't have to be labeled a sexual predator. Doesn't have to be an 19 year old and a 13 yr old.

And we all know young teen girls who happen to be very mature compared to some young teen boys, just as an example on the variance of an individual's maturity. I was the same in maturity at 13 as I was at 17, myself. I matured early especially emotionally.
