    when he starts using the vatican's vast wealth, and the vatican's corrupt bank, to actually help the poor. not to mention breaking with ratzinger's history ofmnot holding the sexual abusers accountable.

      clear. I wont go down the list, but the Catholic Church (and other churches) have basically kept the poor afloat while government, including both political parties, have abandoned them.

      We don't know who is going to be inspired by Pope Francis' words. But we can't just all say a collective nothing. Which is what we've been getting.

        the church has been helpful to the poor, in asia and africa it's much more a mixed bag. but even so- the vatican bank itself needs radical reforming if the pope's words are to be taken seriously. and he's already indicating that his policy on sexual predators won't be much if any different than his predecessor's.
