I received a PhD in social psychology. Its great to be done, to be an independent scholar. But I find it very unnerving to be addressed as "Dr." That is going to be very difficult to get used to.

...pertinent and cool field. I have been a student of it--often times without acknowledging that to myself--so to speak, most of my life. My career has been in media and politics, with a heavy dose of technology mixed in throughout. But, it has ALWAYS had at least SOME focus on your area of specialization, even though I've had limited education in that field. The very best political media folks with whom I've ever had the pleasure of working have had at least some significant education in psychology. To a slightly lesser (but still quite significant) extent, the same holds true with regard to the extensive work I've done outside of the political sphere.
