  •  Americans are afraid of the R word (revolution) (7+ / 0-)

maybe because they can't picture it without violence.

The revolutions in America and France were close together in time because people learned that the nobility were no better than the common man.

Even today, we're still struggling to fully emerge from the feudal ages.  There is progress followed by regression.
In the US the struggle between the privileged few versus the many has been repeated several times.   There were periods when the privileged had an advantage and periods when the many had an advantage, like a seesaw tilting one way then the other.

If we know there's no justification for having a class of a privileged few with everyone else relegated to an inferior or subservient position, why do we still have to struggle with it?  The primitive instincts of humans seem to lead to societies structured like a pyramid.  In modern societies, there are reasons why a more equitable situation for all is preferable.  But it doesn't come about by itself.  It has to be deliberate.

There is no existence without doubt.

realized that there are more of "us" than there are of "them".

There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.

understand the mentality of sociopaths.  With most common, regular people, what you see is what you get.  They're basically honest.  Yes, we suffer from all kind of things, like envy, selfishness, etc., but in general, regular people are "normal" when it comes to everyday living.

They just want to have a job, be able to save a little money, send their kids to college, and retire with some dignity in their later years...

The parasites that is the ruling class has a totally different mentality; one that is sociopathic; one that is driven by unquenchable greed, a sense of entitlement, and predation.

That's why they always find a way to dominate; until the guillotines come out.
