    are out and about feeding. You'd think they would be a great source of food since they are so numerous, but I guess they have some deterrent. However, there is a certain kind of fly that lays eggs in caterpillars, that hatch and eat the caterpillar from the inside.

    Tent caterpillars come and go, every 5 years or so. Some years there are none. This is a big year. Probably the mild winter is one factor.
