The most recent thing that is worrisome is the data being funneled into the national counterterrorism center data base and we don't have answers about minimization in that data base.

And what you have to worry about is the quality of these data bases too. Remember how Ted Kennedy was on the no fly list?  Others who had name mix ups?  The amount of automation is increasing.  You can't count on a human figuring out absurd mistakes.  How about software problems? Anybody in the software industry knows that design and implementation problems are a certainty.  With the way we now outsource and contract things out for the war profiteers, the risks just got exponentially higher.

Man, people are naive if they say things like "if you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about".

I mean, look at the big banks, for instance, who got things wrong and threw people out of their homes and foreclosed on them and they'd never missed a payment.  Was it Wells Fargo that got the addresses wrong? Things like that.  That stuff took months, went through courts, etc.  Clerical errors, other kinds of problems, or even malice.  Think the same thing won't happen with this NCTC data base where completely innocent people won't get scooped up somehow?  People who have done nothing wrong should not be in these data bases, period.

Anyway, Bob, you know that a subset of people here will be alarmed by this and already knew about it. But don't expect the majority of people here to care one whit.  They will just say that they trust Obama to never do anything bad to them.
