Why do you think that is?

Kos is partially a news site, partially a community site, but most of all still a site for activists. When activists see a piece entitled "Addressing anti-transgender violence" they think "Damn, that sounds like it needs to be addressed right now." When they see anything about "surgery performed on a child without parents' consent" they think "That sounds hideous, who can I call about that?" But when they see a piece called "Developing a voice," it sounds like a personal story that doesn't need emergency attention, so they only click on it when they're killing time late at night, as I just did. :-) It was good to read some good news, though!

But we know what Robyn writes about, don't we? And there is still such anti-trans feeling here that I wonder if there isn't a bit of schadenfreude involved as well.

But I would think that transphobic users would be more motivated to go into positive diaries about transpeople and try to rain on the parade. That is what usually happens in non-progressive forums, anyway-- reading the comments on a nice feel-good article about a transperson or even a gay person on Yahoo News or some such place can be a stomach-turning experience. :/
