    Don't (re)build your home in an area that's been hit by devastating tornadoes three times since 1999!

    Also, don't build your home at the base of an active volcano, don't build your home in an area prone to sinkholes (limestone + water) and don't build your home on the face of a cliff in an area subject to mudslides and wildfires.

      many people are economically shackled to their home or home location if they don't have the means to fix up their house to sell. Or if their mortgage is underwater. Or if they need to live within commuting distance of their employer, their own business, or their family.

      Even if they're fortunate enough to get enough money from their insurance company to rebuild, relocating carries a lot of costs beyond the actual move. Expecting people to simply go "elsewhere" isn't always fair.

      We're all in this together.
