    Wow, you're cynical. Unless, of course, you're trying to say that identity politics should never enter into the legislative discourse, and, if you are, that's much worse than bieng cynical.

      It's pandering if they don't really support the identity group with votes.  

      And that's why identity politics is a loser every time.

      It's a way for the real owners of the country to distract us into lining up for blue or red austerity instead of fighting the real bosses together.  It is what happened in the late sixties and is still going on today.

      There is nothing in this bill that serves the people.  As with all of the legislation I can count for the last three terms.  Oligarchy first, second, third, then an identity fig leaf.  Wash rinse repeat.  

      It's the class war.  Period.  

      Bad things aren't bad! And anyway, there's mitigation!
