    Rep. Smith is implying that only Christians ought to be eligible to start the opening prayer for a legislative session in the USA.  Of course, any such judgment on who ought to be able to open the session by virtue of the legitimacy of the prayer offered immediately violates the First Amendment & invites the undermining of the tradition of so doing.  I'd say that the tradition is OK as long as everyone is equally eligible to do so, without retribution if they are not Christian.  Implying a religious test ought to mean a legal challenge to this tradition on First Amendment grounds.

    It's time to start letting sleeping dinosaurs lie, lest we join them in extinction by our consumption of them.
