Comments because there's a limit to how much the same issues can be re-argued in one diary (I also feel that as the author, I need to give critics a bit of air for their arguments), but I have to take exception to you statements:

"...and how it's the first step on a slippery slope to Hitler 2.0...."
If you feel I and others are overreacting, by all means say so, but the "Hitler 2.0" business is neither honest, accurate, nor productive.

My thesis, whether you agree or not, is that the US government has taken new qualitative steps toward restricting a free press, namely the use of the national security apparatus to intimidate reporters into self policing, and that this behavior reeks of a police state.

When another poster went overboard, absurdly making out that I compared the current regime to the Nazis, I corrected him by pointing out that a police states take other forms, like contemporary China, and noted that, bad as the administration's actions were, it was still a tendency, not a fait accompli.

As noted, you are entitled to your opinion on my views, but you are not entitled to your mischaracterization.

I don't object to disagreement, I do object to dishonesty.

A slower bleed-out is not a sustainable value.
