    Most of them are actual meteorologists, but as a group, paradoxically, have a very high percentage of 'climate deniers' (yesmanning their media masters no doubt).
    And of course most of their data and forecast material comes from NOAA (as pointed out at various places on this thread).

    Some of them overhype weather conditions to an absurd degree. If there is a shower anywhere nearby they will pop a promo spot during regular programming breaks making it sound like all hell may break loose (and we cover it at 10PM). Then they even 'enhance' their radar maps to make local precip look worse than it actually is.
    You can check/verify your local weather readers 'overhype quotient' by looking at your local NOAA WFO radar pages online at the same time and comparing the displays.
    In San Antonio the channel 5 WX honcho, Bill Taylor, always does this (in addition to making snide comments).

    When the shit really does hit the fan though, most all of them rise to the occassion, more or less.
