  •  Very few think American healthcare is fine (9+ / 0-)

Very few currently think the American healthcare system is fine the way it is.

Not suprisingly, these people are mostly conservatives, and public office holders, and every one of them has gold-plated healthcare that is paid for by the tax-payers.

If gold-plated healthcare paid for by the American tax-payers is good enough for these people, it should be good enough for all of Americans.

    •  Weeeell... (11+ / 0-)

...I've known plenty of non-public-office-holders who thought the US health care system was just dandy.

But they were definitely all conservatives, and definitely all had gold-plated health care, whether paid for by the taxpayers, by a large corporation, or by their own outsized personal fortunes.

      •  I hear ya....It is degrading, the hoops (8+ / 0-)

that one is made to jump through.  I am going to dissolve UVA....I can't carry it..I have too many yellow magnet,,,proud of the troop patriots and the military is constantly making more disabled veterans only to degrade them when they are disabled.   It is memorial day weekend and vets are hurtin everywhere but all I hear about is people talking bbq not having a clue what it is like on these somber occassions..especially broke to the bone.
I feel for Jim.. It could have been worse sounds like I will pray for ya...Well in my org's case...It could have been better.   I will still help vets but I just can't do this anymore with so much stress and disappointment.

or illness to deal with, either themselves or a close family member.

If all you're hitting the system for is an annual checkup, maybe a sprain, or even a baby (assuming healthy mom, easy delivery, healthy kid), then yeah, you might think our health insurance system is just peachy.

Ask someone like 'Jim', or anyone with cancer, or with a parent who's had a stroke, and prepare for a 180-degree different view.

Comfort the afflicted. Afflict the comfortable.

the integrity of the system. Wouldn't want people scamming insurance companies or gub'mint programs with fake babies, fraudulent cancers or merely minor massive strokes and heart attacks and stuff, would you?
