    The principle is the right of people to peaceably assemble. The right to free speech.

    Whether the crackdown is more severe in one place than another is not relevant to the issue of whether a government that illegally cracks down on its own protesters has any business condemning another government for cracking down on ITS protesters.

    The U.S. Government didn't say it's OK for Turkey to crack down on peaceful protesters , but it should only use teargas and batons (and fire the occasional gas canister at a protester's head at close range). If it had said THAT, we couldn't claim it was being hypocritical.

    Obama is the Chickenshit-in-Chief for failing to stand up to Republicans on all their phony scandals, from the "beer summit," to Van Jones, "death panels," Shirley Sherrod, contraception, Benghazi, and the IRS.
