    Callous disregard? Chilling? You obviously aren't "chilled" to the point of failing to respond. I'm not sure what prerogative you are trying to protect. I don't see what's served by taking umbrage and initiating personal attacks. I'm seeing this tactic employed here a lot, and it's really beyond the pale.

    There may have been occasions when OWS protests were met with police resistance to the extent you describe. Even so those were exceptions, not the rule. And whatever police resistance was mustered took place at the local level. You did not face police intimidation from the National Guard, for instance. The protestors in Turkey are being subjected to coordinated police actions dictated by the people at the very top of the chain of command, at the national level.

    So while I applaud the risk that you and others took on to assert your right to freely assemble, when you start to sound like you are claiming you had it just as bad as today's protestors in Turkey it comes off as...well...callous disregard.
