    The issue is not the relative courage of the protesters or the level of injuries. The issue is the violent suppression of free speech and freedom of assembly by the state.

    The fact that more OWS protesters did not get killed or seriously injured is not relevant to the issue of whether the U.S. is in any position to lecture Turkey about freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.

    As for this:

    None of that compares to systematic government policies concerning state weaponry turned on civilians with the mandates coming from the top levels of the state power structure.
    You are wrong. Just wrong on the facts. The DHS coordinated the attacks on the OWS protesters. The links to all that are in previous comments. So state weaponry was, in fact, turned on protesters in the U.S., "with the mandates coming from the top levels of the state power structure."

    Obama is the Chickenshit-in-Chief for failing to stand up to Republicans on all their phony scandals, from the "beer summit," to Van Jones, "death panels," Shirley Sherrod, contraception, Benghazi, and the IRS.
