Yes, we've all noticed that it takes a good amount of money to get anyone elected.

We all took a great deal of pride in helping elect Senator Warren.

A listing of the states with senate races next year is here.

    •  This is a really bad map for us. (0+ / 0-)

We have to defend a bunch of the really good Senators:

      Mark Udall
      Tom Udall
      Jeff Merkley
      Al Franken
      Tom Harkin

So they're great, but they're at risk...

We have a few dreadful D-in-name-only running as incumbents, but without any plans for primaries:
      Max Baucus
      Mary Landrieu

There's also several I don't know much about but their voting record sucks.

Of the Republicans, most of them are in absurdly red states:
      Sessions (Alabama)
      Chambliss (Georgia)
      Cochrane (Mississippi)
      Inhofe (Oklahoma)
      Graham (South Carolina)
      Enzi (Wyoming)
      Risch (Idaho)
It's going to take a while for the demographic trends and party realignment to hit those states.

I also think it's too early to get Cornyn out of Texas, even though it's going to turn 'blue' pretty fast.

      So what's left?

Maybe we can take Mitch McConnell out of Kentucky?
Or get Lamar Alexander out of Tennessee?
Or perhaps Johanns out of Nebraska?

Best opportunity should be New Jersey, and after that Maine.
Ugh.  I guess we should try to run the board Howard Dean style, but nobody has the money for it, and we're going to be fighting against the DNC and DSCC if we do.

And with the Senate pretending that it needs 60 votes to do anything, I end up being suspicious of all of them, except Tom Harkin who actually tried to change that.
