  •  Gulls are common up and down the Mississippi and (11+ / 0-)

    Missouri rivers. Occasionally we see them on smaller rivers but far less frequently. They have also become common on the larger COE reservoirs in the last ten years. We have several species here but they are difficult to ID, especially with all the different molt stages they go through in which different species look almost identical.

    Still raining here in mid Mo. this morning, so not much to report on.

    Shot these  last fall on the Mississippi, north of St. Louis. I believe that most of them were ringbills but there may have been a few others mixed in with them. .
