  •  What a fantastic experience (7+ / 0-)

and so well documented.  I've only been to active seabird colonies a couple of times but I find it absolutely mesmerizing.  There is so much going on.

I'm envious of the experience and also of the cool weather you undoubtedly experienced.  I've been out kayaking today which was very pleasant but definitely not cool.  It wasn't that bad as it was overcast and the water comes from a spring so it was cool.  But it is still Florida in June.

Not a huge number of birds.  The high point was a wood duck female and a bunch of half grown ducklings.  Also cormorants, anhinga, little blue heron, great egret, osprey.  Sounds of blue jays and carolina wrens back in the woods.

    Thanks for the alcids.
