    Because its standard procedure in damn near any public Union.

    I'm very pro union, but I also realize that the police union is there to protect cops, not the public or the public interest.

    I plan to do more research about this case as it has outraged me, but I'd bet a mortgage payment my speculation about the union helping him fight this 'wrongful termination' is dead on.
