    Reading through these comments, it is plain to me that people fundamentally do not understand the actual nature of what the NSA is doing. There's a preoccupation with security letters and records of government inquiries. That's not the program of most concern. At all.
    Email is trivial to intercept. I do it every day.
    SSL has been known to be vulnerable for years. For the NSA, SSL is less than a nuisance to crack. All email can be intercepted before it gets to the email servers. That is what the NSA is doing. They intercept the email then they data mine it for links to known bad guys. Or celebrities or ex girlfriends...
    The things people seem concerned about are comparatively innocuous compared to what the NSA is doing that people don't seem to grasp quite yet.

    +++ The law is a weapon used to bludgeon us peasants into submission. It is not to be applied to the monied elite.
