    anytime they are on the same side of an argument. Didn't see the NAZI's years ago complaining when the ACLU took their case. Happens all the time.

      The ACLU understands, the only hope for keeping the government in check, is fight them over ever inch they try to take. Give in, look the other way, just because somebody you endorsed or otherwise support does it, and eventually you have nothing left to defend.

      They've been fighting the exact same stuff for their entire history.  Very consistently, more consistent than almost any group I can think of.

      The Espionage Act of 1917, which Obama is using to attempt to prosecute whistleblowers?  That was Woodrow Wilson's law; he used it to imprison political dissidents.  That was one of the laws which the ACLU organized to fight.  The ACLU is, if anything, right back to its roots now.
