  •  We're under a big flash flood watch (7+ / 0-)

What the NWS is reporting right now for all of Chicagoland (I'm NW burbs) is the potential for very heavy rain after 4pm today.  Saying 1 inch is almost guaranteed, could be 2-3, maybe locally 4-5 inches in places.  If that's true, I'll have a duck pond in my backyard for the next 24 hours.

But I agree, right now I just don't see it.  The infrared shows everything breaking up and pushing off to the east.  NWS says storms will flair up along a Rockford - Chicago line, but right now it looks like they're going to appear out of thin air.

I'll be watching the radar fairly often this afternoon.  I'll post here if I see anything pop up.

I don't see anything much on the radar, but I guess it's how these things happen. I'm the official office "weather girl" so I need to stay on top of it.
Stay safe. I already battened down the otudoor stuff but may be rethinking and actually bringing some of it inside.
Thank you weatherdude for helping us stay safe, and educating us.

America is a COUNTRY, not a CORPORATION. She doesn't need a CEO. Vote Obama.
