Words In Action, priceman wrote almost as much in your comments, here, in my post, than I wrote in my entire post, too.

    •  My point is that it's more substantive. (0+ / 0-)

You practically spam these buzzwords and phrases like "Inverted Totalitarianism" in discussions you have about civil liberties.  Your comments fit a very rigid, almost compulsive boilerplate pattern of mantras and link-spamming material that doesn't substantively support your conclusions about either the state of affairs we have to deal with or what to do about it - the latter of which you have far less to say about.  And this diary is just part of that same mantra.

"America's a police state.  America's a police state.  America's a police state.  Here's a spam of anecdotes of police abuse and the FBI doing what it's always done throughout its history proving that we are a police state.  Why can I say this without official consequences or state harassment of any kind?  Well, because of the magic of 'Inverted Totalitarianism,' where the things that make totalitarianism totalitarianism aren't present, but it's still totalitarianism because I say so and the word vindicates my constant state of fear."

You post on Daily Kos, which is dedicated to electing - get that, electing - more and better Democrats (a Party you deride), and on which umpteen gajillion people (yourself included) every day promote liberal politics and criticize the government in ways spanning the spectrum from superficial to thorough, trivial to fundamental, precisely-argued to insanely off-the-wall and irrational, and all of it is right there for every government employee to see: No need for an NSA snoop machine.  And guess what else: Daily Kos participates in Google's ad programs, so the data about all of our activity is constantly being fed into their metadata programs all the time.

But a police state wouldn't need Google Analytics to tell them what we're doing or what we think, because this is a publicly-accessible forum.  Everyone who gives the slightest shit what you think knows because you tell them constantly.  And yet here you are, still telling them.  The fact that you can and that nobody in any serious position to do anything about it disputes your right to do so either in word or deed means you're wrong; the fact that you choose to exercise that option rather than trying to form some kind of clandestine resistance means you're not serious about your own claims.  I'm all for honest hyperbole.  Emphasis on honest.

But from what I can gather of the way you reason and discuss, you basically just seem to have an aesthetic attraction to fear and to interpretations of just about everything that vindicate it.
