      Dr. Who fans; see tomorrow's diary. A lucky grad will be receiving a very cool quilt from her mom. I won't tell, I got a sneak preview; you'll have to visit the diary.  :o)

      That's the one that won Best of Show.  Oh my.  

      I took classes from Marilyn Badger, Karen McTavish and others.  A show quilt like that one, if done right with thread knotted and buried, changing colors of thread - just the quilting alone would be at least one month minimum.  Marilyn Badger wins a lot - she has another buddy who sometimes designs their quilts and that takes up to three months to design and piece.  Marilyn takes maybe three months to quilt the quilt.  Then if they do some painting and/or beading on it - more time.  They give themselves at least a year.  

      So that quilt - at least a year to do it like the winner did.  

      Something more swirly and simply quilted - less time.  Does that help?
