  •  I was there last night (7+ / 0-)

for the first time. Listening to Rev. Barber was inspiring, even for this atheist.  His ability to lead a very diverse group of people has been awe inspiring.

I also went into the legislative building and stood on the third floor rotunda until around 7 pm.  I then went outside and watched the street protesters that were set up across from where the buses leave the NCGA building.  I plan on joining that group next week.

MsSpentyouth - you have done a wonderful job describing what is going on in our state.  I moved here in '96 to go to grad school at ECU and my parents retired here in '93 from Michigan. My sister and husband retired here 4 years ago from Ohio.  We love our adopted state and this GOP/TP/Koch Bros/ALEC takeover makes me wonder why I stayed after graduation.

I plan on keeping up the fight even after this NCGA session is over.  We need to work with the NC DEM party, help them clean up their mess and get a 100 county Voter ID Drive/Registration initiative started to make sure that our voices are heard in 2014.

FORWARD TOGETHER, NOT ONE STEP BACK.
