    Daughter got them to agree to refund the overage they removed from her account.  However, it will take them up to 45 days to reverse the transaction, with no interest or even a coupon for her inconvenience, not to mention the bank fees from bounced checks.

    In the meantime, they claim they can only reverse the entire transaction so she needs to send them a check immediately or they will suspend her service within 5 days.  This will put Verizon in the position of having 3 payments of hers with their having 45 days to return the overage, assuming she continues to send in checks in a timely manner.  

    Yep, she is currently 2 payments ahead and Verizon wants her to be 3 payments ahead or they will cut her service, though, on paper, her account is paid up until Verizon reverses their error in 45 days.  The rep was helpful in pointing out that if she just left the over payment in her account, she would get to skip that month's payment
