    Seems to me like it might be a good idea to dig a little deeper here, and see if the IRS is paying extra-special attention to this particular turn of developments ;)

      Which you could only change into real money through the company.  At bad rates.  Meaning you were being paid less than the wage advertised.

      Classic Gilded Age abuse.  It was made illegal in a lot of states in the 1890s-1910s precisely because of that.  Of course, the evil lunatics in charge of today's major corporations are trying it again.
