    But you don't know shit about the scope of the NSA programs.  No one here does.

      The Church Committee wrote an entire volume detailing it over a ten-year period.

      Despite laws and "oversight", the NSA illegally scooped up every possible bit of information that it could, to the limits of its technical capability, on any and all US citizens that it deemed "of intelligence interest". And it did that under Democratic Administrations, no less.

      So anyone who wants to argue that the NSA would never overstep its legal authority, would never evade or avoid its oversight, would never illegally spy on American citizens within the US, and would never exceed the legal limits of the type of data it gathers, needs to explain to me (1) why the NSA did in fact do every single one of those things the last time it had the chance to, and (2) what you think prevents them now from doing the very same thing they already did before.

      I'm all ears. . . .
