massively, in 2008.  The people turned out and volunteered, donated, called, and registered.  We turned out especially for "Change."

We now know we got "Same" regarding most Bush admin programs.

I don't mean any criticism of you, Jamess, but those in the other media who claim responsibility for this lies upon the American people are forgetting a big election when the American people specifically were sold and voted for "Change."

Now, a sad comment from another angle.  I just saw bits and pieces of the Miss USA pageant (I know, I know).  It was drivel.  All the glowing beauties endorsed security state tactics.

One was all for DNA collection from everyone arrested. After all, they are being prosecuted so what's wrong with that.

One was all for the government monitoring all our calls. After all, she didn't feel like we should worry about terrorists when going to movies and the shopping mall (I kid you not, so having the government protect us by monitoring our communications is great!

the general disengagement, I was referring to.

That's it's all A-OK, long as they can "keep us safe."

Safe from what?  is what I often wonder.

Perhaps halting all the collateral damage, from drones,
would help to "keep us safe."

You know, practice peace; build bridges, not blow them up.
