hosted a breakfast on Friday featuring members of the press questioning Dave Camp, Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee and Max Baucus, Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, about tax reform, upcoming budget battles and general economic policies.  Baucus answered one question regarding the upcoming debt ceiling debate by saying that, even though the president said he will not negotiate over raising the ceiling, Baucus believes he should.  After all, Republicans represent their constituents, too.

Baucus also stated that, although he was glad to see the deficit coming down, he believes that tax reform that "cuts rates and broadens the base" is still necessary.

That is one Democratic senator I won't be sorry to see go.

"In this world of sin and sorrow there is always something to be thankful for; as for me, I rejoice that I am not a Republican." - H. L. Mencken
