...they don't know when they're dead.   After all, the Republican Party is now the party of the South, and they still claim they never lost the Civil War.  I should know, I grew up there.

As a child I heard many adults, some of them school teachers and ministers say, and I quote, "The South did not lose the war.  The South simply ran out of men and supplies".  Thank God, I wised up in my late teens and came to realize, running out of men and supplies is, basically, how you lose a war.  But, you can't tell them that, still.

So, as much as I hate to admit it, I see the Republican Party hanging around, claiming victory even when it gets its clock cleaned, and spouting enough poison to keep the rest of us busy doing overtime trying to keep politics and our nation clean and healthy.

It's like conceding an election. The men-and-materials is what leads to it. The how-you-know-you-lost is that you (or your top guy) sign a surrender document, and then you slink back and agree to the terms dictated by the winner, including the 13th and 14th Amendments.

Also the Confederate States of America no longer exists in real life, only in the minds of the True Believers, like Tinkerbell and the tooth fairy. And Elvis.
