  •  I'm fine with you not supporting Snowden's (8+ / 0-)

actions.  What I have a problem with is the way you voice that lack of support.  While this post is the exception, the vast majorities of posts reflecting that lack of support consists of: 1) personal attacks against Snowden, which are just cheap, meaningless shots resulting from having nothing of substance to say; 2) I can't believe you didn't know this has been going on for years, so it's no big deal, which is simply another substanceless response; 3) Google is worse (never mind that Google doesn't yet have quite the power of a government); and 4) But The Terrorists.

Oh, and occassionally 5) You just hate Obama.

I can't quite wrap my mind around the idea that anyone would feel comfortable with the concept of a government secretly gathering information.  Information not on other governments or even on people suspected of acting against our government, but on everyone, including its own citizens.  Personally, I'd rather take the risk of our country possibly being hurt in some as yet undetermined manner and some as yet undetermined time than have it undermine itself as its doing.

When I buy insurance or wear a helmet, I'm not doing it secretly.  Your analogy makes no sense whatsoever.

Nevertheless, I'll admit this post was probably one of the least nonsensical I've seen written that supports the concept of the government secretly spying on us all.  It was at least written inoffensively, except of course for the part  about how this is really all about Obama hating for a lot of us.

    Sigh.
