    The fact that Cheney has to pop up to defend the NSA surveillance state,

    indicates how over the line those secret activities have become.


    If Cheney and Bush had read and reacted to their own PDB's

    -- or took Clinton Security Adviser Richard Clarke seriously --

    9/11 likely could have been prevented as well. (ie without the NSA.)


    But they had no interest, in those early warning systems, nor in those rational security concerns for maintaining continuity on Al Qaeda.

    Cheney should have NO Standing on the subject, now.


    The case could be made,

    that the main reason we have inherited this NSA surveillance state, we now have:

    -- is PRECISELY because Cheney and Bush were SO incompetent at the National Security job.
