  •  Wasn't the public split 50/50 on invading (8+ / 0-)

but, once it happened and the troops were in harm's way + press hype, approval jumped?

Government and laws are the agreement we all make to secure everyone's freedom.

Don't forget the parade of retires generals running a psy-ops on the American public for fun and prophet.

A convincing case for invadin Iraq can easily be made if you're willing to lie...

But let us look forward not back citizen...

Deserves it! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends. - Gandalf the Grey

of lies that were believed by a majority of Americans. That our "national security" establishment has been willing and able to deceive the public, should not be in doubt.

Also beyond any doubt, is that our Media have repeatedly served as willing propaganda outlets for the government's lies.

These are things we should keep in mind, when assessing the nature and extent of current NSA activities. The "national security" folks don't always lie, but they do frequently lie, without compunction or remorse.

It is my impression that they are often as concerned, or more concerned with perpetuating their own power, as they are with the welfare of the nation as a whole.
