newsworthy.  In no way does it compare to the horrible targeting and damage done by the IRS in screening the conservatives who applied for tax free status.

I'm pretty sure that every Democratic organization was wiretapped.  I'm pretty sure that's why Rupert Murdoch hasn't had anyone question him about his involvement in hacking here in the US even though he's in up to his elbows in England for doing that.

    •  Well, we'd have better traction if people... (7+ / 0-)

stopped using President Obama, the man, to defend this program. Obviously it'll be used against democrats, people of color, etc.

That's so fucking obvious it makes me sad it needed to be said. Even so, it has been ignored by people who used President Obama's race to shout down those who object to the obvious dangers of this program.

This may be the final straw to wake some people the fuck up!
Defending wiretapping is NOT defending black people.

I don't blame you. It was ugly. I threw in a few donuts myself.

I'm not sure if we're talking about same skirmish but I believe in moving on DOT com.

I'm reeling from those who have argued objections to this NSA program are evidence of elite, privileged detachment from real problems. That's such a stupid argument, and so misreads human nature, it makes me despair for black America's future generally.

If the dangers of NSA to POC aren't obvious, then what is? How can we solve any problems if we can't figure that out?!!
That's why I'm so animated. I saw people blasting OPOL the other day because he noted J. Edgar Hoover had done wiretapping on MLK Jr.

Btw, mind giving me a hint of the spat you're discussing? I forget about them w/in 12 hours typically.

when it was obvious you didn't like it and thought it disrespectful for obvious reasons. I've been on the receiving end of his vitriol so I empathized.

And yeah, the spying is bad for everyone of every color. We're all citizens.

      •  Well, now we have a pretty good idea of why (0+ / 0-)

Obama was so willing to defend the program no matter what.
