    If the president of the United States were blackmailed, the act of blackmail and the infrastructure behind the blackmail would surely give Obama a much better hand to play than any hand against him.

    Besides, if I were a blackmailed president, I certainly would self-sabotage my 2012 re-election chances. What are they going to do? Disgrace an EX-president in a way that brings the whole house of cards down?

    I'm not saying you're definitely wrong, but there are many things to consider.

      Big donors don't consider it blackmail when they control their candidate's decisions. I suspect it might be the same "gentleman's agreement" when it comes to the NSA.
