    labor unions in all of this?  I'm guessing the teachers' unions are on the side of the movement, but what about the other municipal unions and tradesmen?  If they got behind this with their political clout, Rahm would have to pay attention...

      Chicago Teachers Union VP Jesse Sharkey was there and spoke to the press. Marty Ritter was also there along with some rank and file CTU members in their familiar red shirts. Jesse can be seen in one of the photos I took. There was also a small presence from National Nurses United. As for the other unions, they did not have a visible presence.

        AFSCME would have a presence at a minimum...or do they see development=jobs?

          SEIU has thrown its support into the Fight for 15 low wage worker movement which would have a direct effect on Uptown if successful. Neither SEIU nor AFSCME has any love for Rahm though.

          Your point about development definitely applies to the construction trades which one union electrician told me are "firmly in Rahm's pocket."
