  •  I'll be impressed when I see a public (0+ / 0-)

investigation that includes somebody not in the administration.

    •  I get that but see Ken Starr (0+ / 0-)

check and see how much Clinton investigations cost the feds (80 million dollars). And did you feel any better afterwards? I didn't think so.

Suspicion never fades no matter how much "proofing" you do because you're asking someone to prove a negative. I didn't do it. But where there is smoke, there's fire (another pundit straw men), right?

      •  A little bit. (0+ / 0-)

The Starr case was an extreme example -- special prosecutor and all that, and it was about business dealings prior to taking office, not with conduct of the administration.

But you shouldn't mention Whitewater without also mentioning Watergate.

        •  why? (0+ / 0-)

one was a real abuse of power (Watergate), which this doesn't look like and one was an expensive fishing expedition, which this does look like (see Darrel Issa's clumsy IRS transcript problem).

It's important to talk about Whitewater because (just so you know) it makes D's very suspicious of holier-than-thou calls for an independent review. Been there done that, it's part of anti-Clinton Industries, Inc. and it don't sell here.

          •  It's all about the investigation. (0+ / 0-)

The very idea of investigating is to find the truth.  If you already know the truth, you don't need to investigate.

            •  true, but investigations are partisan (0+ / 0-)

see Issa, see Whitewater. The real non partisan investigation is the IG.
